Residence for Steve and Sue Ondre  Designed: Steve Ondre Built: Steve and Sue Ondre 1976, Fulford Harbour, British Columbia Personal residence on 4.29 acres. Built on a granite outcropping, the foundation was formed with site rock and pinned to the granite bedrock. Exposed 6X timber for the frame and the large picture windows were salvaged from a steel mill demolition in Vancouver. Fir flooring and misc. hardware were salvaged from residential demolitions in Victoria. Tile and sinks imported from Mexico. Cabinetry site built by owners, mouldings hand cut. Heated by air circulating fireplace insert. Hot water by wood/solar/elec. Excellent SW exposure and large windows and vaulted ceilings gives this 850sq.ft.cottage a feeling of openness not found in many houses twice its size. The all wood exterior and hand finished interior give it an inviting coziness.    |
